Crosswalk is a bridge-ministry so our 5-6 graders can become acquainted and comfortable with the transition into STS.  STS firmly believes ministry is about relationships.  We want to personally know, care for, and love on our young teenagers and their families.  We are created for community with fellow believers to encourage, develop, and, most importantly, to disciple one another.  Through relationships we are able to come along side our teens and their families to deepen their walk with Christ.  Ultimately, our goal is to faithfully shepherd each student so that they will love the Lord with all of their heart, soul, and strength and want to live for Him.

When We Meet

SUNDAY MORNING [8:45-10:15 a.m]

Our vision for STS Sunday mornings is to create an environment where students develop and mature in their heartbeat to know Jesus and make Him known. It is our desire to see STS students equipped to live boldly for Jesus at home, on campus, and in everyday life. On Sunday mornings, this is accomplished through small group study.

This year, the 5-6 grade small groups will be going through Children Desiring God's Teach Me Your Way study. Groups are divided by grade and gender (ex: 5th grade guys, 6th grade girls, etc.) and led by an awesome group of parents & adult leaders. After pancakes in The Cafe (8:45am) and worship in The Loft (9:15am), students will go to their small groups in classrooms.

This study encourages students to surrender to Jesus in salvation and submit their minds, hearts, and wills to His way in obedience. The first several lessons of the curriculum focus on the need for salvation, and on God’s work in making idolaters into worshipers of Himself. Then, students examine the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), focusing on the inward heart attitude of a person who is submitted to Christ and His ways. The lessons explore the human tendency to worship the creation rather than the Creator, and to pursue the temporal benefits of the world over the eternal value of knowing Christ.

*Spring 2018 small groups meet every Sunday morning February 4 - May 20 with the exception of April 1 (Easter Sunday) and May 13 (Mother's Day/Apostles Anniversary Sunday).*

If you would like more information on small groups, you can check out our small groups directory!

Midweek Gathering [Wednesday, 6:00 - 7:15pm]

Through our Midweek gathering, our hope is that students will be equipped to love God more. Every week, during Hour of Power, large group and/or small group Bible studies are offered for every grade level.

The first Wednesday of the month, our GOteams meet. This is an opportunity for students to come together and serve our ministry and the community. GOteams are based on areas of interest, our student’s passions, hobbies, and skills. Students can sign learn more about each team and sign up for more information HERE.

The other weeks, we will be going DEEPER in Bible Studies! 5-8 graders, join us in The Den as we look at deep issues and questions of the faith and discuss them with our peers. We'll be using the 1-Minute Apologist's videos to spark conversation.

Community Groups [Third Sunday, 5:00 - 6:30pm] *Spring 2018: February 18, March 18, April 15*

Our vision is to intentionally build community within STS and offer a welcoming & unintimidating atmosphere for students to invite friends. That is the heartbeat behind Community Groups: why we are meeting in homes, why we plan to build in time for fellowship and games, and why we are including time in the Word and discussion. We want students to leave encouraged, with some new or deeper connections, and knowing they are loved by our Savior.

This year, during the Bible study and discussion time, we will be looking at selected topics from David Platt's Counter Culture.
